So now the website is open, the address is finally sorted, and I am again focussing on my embroidery designs for the new Midwinter collection. The All-Seeing-Eye is quite the little hot potato of conspiracy theory and symbolism. I just think it looks cool. An eye often surrounded with rays of light and enclosed by a triangle is sometimes interpreted as depicting the eye of God watching over humankind. Like my Eye of Horus embroidery, this imagery can be traced to the ancient Egyptians, but also appears in Buddhist, Hindu, Caodaist and Christian traditions. No, not LSD. Much more exciting ;) Varigated silk, man. I have this lovely varigated silk in my box, from 21st Century Yarns, but not knowing how stripey it would come out, I knew whatever design I could use it on would have to be defined by shape rather than detail.
